In this weeks lesson, Hendo covers a basic rear naked choke defense. Learn the technique to protect your neck and how to recover if your position is compromised.


Once your opponent has your back, keep one arm high so he can’t grab your neck. If he reaches under with his hand, trap his arm. If he reaches in with the other hand, grab his wrist. Sit to one side of your opponent and get your back to the ground. Make sure to keep your chin to your chest. Keep your stomach to the ceiling, slide out of his legs and make sure to keep his leg from coming over the top.
